Director & Head of Africa, Women in Marketing

Andrea has been a founding member of the Women in Marketing (WiM) network – a not for profit organisation - since its inception in 2004 when it was part of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). In December 2017 she was brought on as a director to support the activities of the organisation, leading on WiM’s global expansion strategy, specifically on the African continent, with the launch of WiM Africa in South Africa in 2018.
Andrea is a seasoned marketing leader with a passion for purpose-led marketing, gender and race equality, and entrepreneurship; and a love for the positive storytelling and development of the African continent. An award-winning marketing and branding consultant, Andrea runs a strategic marketing consultancy.
Andrea’s professional career, spanning over 20 years, began at a multimedia software publishing company in Paris and then a real estate company in Washington DC, moving into strategic marketing and brand management roles for FTSE 100 companies including Anglo American, Informa, Microsoft, Marks & Spencer. Andrea has a wealth of experience across several industries including property, education, food retail, men’s fashion, office design and build, outdoor adventure sports, healthcare, technology media telecoms (TMT), mining and advertising.
Andrea holds an BA in International Business from Kingston University (UK). Her interests revolve around pushing for gender equality across all areas of business and society; the development of the African continent to its full potential, and the marketing and business challenges that arise from such growth. Andrea has two sons and enjoys travelling and reading.
