Folake Ani-Mumuney is the Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications and General Manager, First Bank of Nigeria.
A fine corporate communications player, with nearly 30 years of experience, Folake has crisscrossed the heart of corporate platforms, holding several key and sensitive positions at different times.
Folake began her illustrious career with the British Airways, where she was responsible for Brands Policies and Communications across Europe and African region comprising 59 countries. She was practically running 59 countries, more than the size of the African continent at a time. Folake Ani-Mumuney was the first black woman in a top management position in British Airways.
Her outstanding personality inspired a move to Dangote Group. Bringing her experiences to bear, Folake, who was the Chief Marketing and Communication Officer, initiated the speedy turnaround of Dangote Group. Her days at Dangote Group are remembered for the giant strides she took.
Folake left Dangote Group to join First Bank where she presently serves as Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications and General Manager. She is known to be the brain behind the meteoritic rise in the fortunes of the bank as she continuously dishes out one form of market oriented policy after another.
Folake has degrees in Philosophy and Law and a diploma in Business Computing Systems Analysis and Design. She holds several other management certificates and belongs to many professional bodies. She studied at the Harvard Business School, University of Buckingham and as well University of Lagos.
She is a recipient of several awards which includes the prestigious Lifetime Marketing Achievement Award held in Ghana.
